Brasil: Brazilian Economy Outperforms Naysayers

Up off the mat, kneeling on one knee, facing the dragon, Brazil rises to its feet! It seems to have become very popular among the economic literati to predict the demise of the Brazilian economy. However, the Brazilians, and their commodities, are proving to be resourceful. The Brazilian economy expanded by a surprising 1.5 percent in the second quarter, or an annualized rate of 6 percent, prompting Finance Minister Guido Mantega to affirm Friday that Brazil is on course for an economic recovery. Turns out, Mark Twain was listening.
